1. The location (Lakeland, FL) is closer for Floridians and many South Georgians than Montreat, Lake Junaluska, or Ridgecrest.  This means a travel expense savings.
2. In addition to their own worship times (nightly Vespers), the Youth worship with the Adults every morning.  All benefit from intergenerational worship.
3. Worship takes place in chapels or churches rather than hotel meeting rooms.  We all know that we can worship anywhere, but many find it easier to focus in a place normally used for worship.
4. Workshops take place on a small college campus.  Dormitory lodging and dining hall meals are usually less expensive than other venues.  Room and board is always offered at cost.
5. All the adults stay in the same dorm and all eat in the same dining hall.  Fellowship and networking are facilitated for the entire group–even the clinicians.
6. The adults often have optional social excursions at night after the sessions.  Fellowship is what sets the Florida Fellowship Workshop apart.  Instead of everyone going their separate ways after the sessions, we meet and tell stories, have refreshments, or go out for dessert together.

The Grant K. Pulen Scholarship, named for a founding member of the Florida Chapter, provides an award of $1,500 to a fulltime student in music at an accredited college or university.

Applicants must be a member of the United Methodist Florida Conference, or have attended the Youth Music Workshop of the Florida Fellowship prior to appplication.

The students are well supervised by a phenomenal college-age Youth Team of counselors, who assist the adult leaders and work with your youth 24 hours a day.  Middle School students require a chaperone to accompany your group.
